Use of Educational Technology in Classrooms

Education is evolving fast. Every day, we hear about some new technology that transforms the world and the way we learn. There are many educational technologies that are a key to improve learning, because these rapid changes offer us the chance to improve education at every level, it is more important for teachers and students have access to the best new methods, programs, and devices in the field. As we know the 21st century, Technology in the Classroom is becoming more and more predominant.

Technologies are replacing our textbooks, and we can explore just about anything that we want. The impact that technology has on today’s schools is quite significant and can be witnessed in many schools of Idara-e- Taleem-o- Aagahi (ITA). The interactive smart board technology is being used in several schools and it is observed that students specifically primary grade students prefer technology because they believe that it makes learning more interesting and bring fun. Subjects that students consider challenging or boring can become more interesting with practical lessons, through a video, using interactive smart boards or when using other. It is a fact that primary level is an important stage in the child’s educational life. If a teacher succeeds in forming a sound base and making the entire concept clear to a child, then in future the student will be able to grasp difficult things easily. It depends upon the effective teaching and learning process. Educational technology plays an important and crucial role in making teaching-learning process more effective and successful. Educational Technologies are those materials, procedures, organizations, ideas, devices, instruments or machines which make the teaching-learning process more effective, successful, and unforgettable.

Technology has enabled students to learn at their own pace. Students learn according to their abilities and needs. This form of teaching is great for the teachers because it gives him/her the time to work individually with students who are struggling. The use of technology is more significant and change is seen especially across primary level. In primary classes technology has a profound impact on the students and it helps them retain information better. This widespread and extensive adoption of technology has completely changed the classrooms and teaching learning process. Incorporating technology into the classroom means that students have exposure and access to different ways of learning. Maybe some students get ahead in a lecture environment; others might be being great independent learners, who can gather information from educational software. Giving students the choice of different ways to learn means they will likely explore and try different techniques, and in the end, learn the best strategies for themselves as individual learners. Educational technology makes it possible for students with special needs to grow vigorously in academic settings and technology allows students to communicate and be involved with their teachers and classmates.

These days, teachers and students have so many more choices to make where technology is concerned. In my mind, however, it is not so much about the technology you choose, but the method to use the technology that is more important. There is no doubt that technology is an integral part of teaching in today’s classrooms. We are fortunate to live in a country that has started valuing the technology in classrooms from last few years. The technology is given into the hands of teachers and students and they are lucky to receive training that has helped them to utilize technology to enhance the learning of all their students.
